Today's list of annoyances:

First, I said back in 2004 that despite the lies, the war, the secrecy, the Patriot Act, etc., that Bush needed to be defeated because he would change the makeup of the Supreme Court. But wishy-washy voters who weren't sure if they actually liked John Kerry or bought into the whole "flip-flop/Swiftboat/pro-French" attacks, voted to keep Bush because he couldn't possibly screw things up any more. Fast forward to this week's Supreme Court decisions that were unfortunately overshadowed by Paris Hilton getting out of jail. While not particularly Right-wing in their rulings, the 5-4 Conservative split on every issues shows how the court will work for the near future. And the incremental changes are slowly overturning laws that the Conservatives did not like.

Next up, Dick Cheney lives up to his name by concocting a new branch of government all for himself. And if you don't like it, he'll shoot you in the face.

Then there is the CIA disclosure of almost 30 years of overreaching and just plain illegal activities that many Americans have known about for years, but finally the proof comes from the mouth of the beast itself, leaving the tin-foil hat crowd to say "I told you so!" The question is, after all these years, information about illegal wiretaps, spying on peace activists, targeting assassinations, instigating wars, etc., comes out at a time when we are worried about our government doing exactly the same thing. Yet they claim that the disclosure is because that was then, and the CIA would never do things like that again...

Lastly, there is Ann Coulter. Normally, I try to keep my blog free from cursing or personal attacks. Then Ms. Coulter comes back on the regular non-FOX networks, and manages to insult every person in her path, and to call for the death of a Presidential candidate, all while promoting the new paperback edition of her book "Godless". Watching this at my gym, I had to control myself from blurting out "$#@!, &*%#, and (@^!" while watching her be a $#@& to Elizabeth Edwards of all people. Ms. Coulter's only job is to incite the Left to the point of frothing, then to claim we are all frothing and angry. Job well done Ann, now can you crawl back into your cave and not come out for another 10 years?
