April 4, 2006:

Yesterday, a federal jury ruled that Al Qaeda conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui is eligible for the death penalty. Given that he is the only person to be able to stand trial for the 9-11 attacks places a lot of anger directed at one man. Here's my thoughts; why would we take a man who was allegedly willing to be a martyr and die for his cause and give him the death penalty? Let's face it, he was a failed hijacker, who never even got the opportunity to carry out his mission. His courtroom testimony reversal is indicative that he is trying to become a martyr for the cause because he faild so miserably the first time. Why would we give him the satisfaction of living out his dream? The best thing we could do is make him sit in a cell for the rest of his life with no opportunity to ever die a "glorious death".
