August 1, 2006:
The website AntiWar.com is chock full of great commentary, including three must read pieces by Jonathan Cook, Pat Buchanan, and Charlie Reese about the current state of war in the Middle East. The Independent's Rober Fisk has ongoing reports with years of experience in the region. Also, check out a new young blogger named Yousef who's analysis of Middle Eastern affairs come from an informed and comprehensive study of the region, not from rants like my own!
On a side note, I cannot understand how anyone can regard FOX News as anything but a mouthpiece for the administration. I managed to watch FOX News for a total of ten minutes last night and this morning combined, and in that short amount of time I saw nothing but right-wing propaganda. I first watched an interview with President Bush where the anchor literally asked Bush, "with all the uncertainty in the world, and the price of gas rising, why is our economy so strong?"
Are you friggin' kidding me? With the world going to hell, people dying in Iraq and Israel and Lebanon and every other new station focused on the war, there is FOX sitting pitching the President compliment-wrapped softballs. Then this morning on FOX & Friends, the friendly anchors were having a great time ripping on the U.N. (a right-wing pastime), even referring to U.N. monitoring forces in Lebanon as "U.N. 'farce'." All this in less than 10 minutes of the "news".
