Fake story: Al Gore's use of energy. Conservative think-tanks that poo-poo global warming and label themselves as "non-partisan" on their website, attack Al Gore for his energy consumption, completely ignoring the facts on where that energy comes from and how much he pays for it. It was a big issue for Sean Hannity and talk radio the past two nights also. One Conservative talk show went so far as to say President Bush is "greener" than the former VP. Man, they will just lie about anything, even the silly stuff.

Real Story: Taliban regrouping and becoing a greater threat.

Underhyped story: Sy Hersh exposes the Bush Administration's strategy of the enemy of my enemy is my friend – when the enemy is Iran and that friend is al Qaida! Echos of Iran/Contra revisited...

Overhyped Whining Conservative story: Sean Hannity is outraged about some postings on liberal blogs that the Afghan bomb did not harm V.P. Cheney. While some out there might wish harm upon the V.P. or feel it would be justly deserved, I do not. Nor should anyone wish death upon another, especially another American. Also, if Cheney was harmed in the blast, then he would be held as a martyr for the cause. No link here, Hannity is just a whiny idiot.

Today on Slate.com, Fred Kaplan points out "Four bewildering remarks from the Bush administration".

"The world might be less stressful if the president of the most powerful nation didn't so frequently convey the impression that he has no idea what's going on."
