June 12, 2006:

In only three short weeks, so many things have happened: the death of Al-Zarqawi, the "it's not me, it's you" farewell speech by Tom Delay, the conviction of Enron bigwigs, and some completely outrageous comments from the "who can I offend now" mind of Ann Coulter. I don't know where to begin...

Let's start of easy: hopefully, after this batch of negative publicity (in which she revels in), networks will think twice about giving Ms. Coulter ANY platform in which to promote her brand of racist and inflammatory rhetoric. Can we all just tune her out now?

The recent Yearly Kos convention in Las Vegas proves that the Internet and the progressive bloggers are making huge inroads to the political power base. Each election since 2004 will continue to build on the momentum began by Howard Dean. Call them "radical", "fringe-left-wingers" or even "nerds", but these bloggers are helping shape the public opinion of the Democratic Party, much like Rush and the Talk Radio crowd did with that old form of technology. And if the coverage in the MSM like Meet the Press is any indication, the mainstream journalists and media outlets have good reason to be afraid: bloggers who are not beholden to corporate media have done more uncovering of news than the "professionals" who seem fixated on sensationalism stories.

Congratulations to Markos Moulitsas Zuniga and all the staff at the Daily Kos for all the success!
