March 27, 2006:
Over at Huffington Post, RJ Eskow has a great post on how to talk to detractors about the NSA Wiretapping; something Democrats really need to get skilled at. It is not a question of being soft on terrorists, but the fact that the program is illegal and it is being used not to just listen to Al Qaeda, but to spy on peace activists and political dissenters without oversight or accountability.
On a side note, the Supreme Court will begin hearing evidence that will determine if the President has the authority to be judge, jury and executioner in regards to Military Tribunals. Chief Justice Roberts has recused himself from the case due to the fact that while on a lower court, he argued for the Presidential Authority. The question is whether Justice Scalia should also recuse himself, since he made very public comments about the case, indicating he has alredy made up his mind before he sees any evidence. That's not blind justice, that's a kangaroo court.
