March 14, 2007: Debunking naysayers/AIPAC Influence

VP Cheney, as well as Dem. Candidates Clinton, Edwards and Obama made headlines recently by speaking to AIPAC, all parroting variations on a similar line: that military force may (or must, in Cheney's case) be used against Iran. Why would such a spectrum of candidates use this language, and specifically at AIPAC? Glenn Greenwald and Pachacutec break it down. (Update: even The American Conservative notes the cracks showing in AIPAC.)

Despite general scientific consensus and with even the White House acknowledging global warming, the talking heads on TV and radio are trying desperately to debunk Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth". Why even the "liberal" NY Times ran an article questioning the validity of Gore's claims. Fortunately, some people read past the headlines, and David Roberts strips away the false argument without breaking a sweat.
