The first three posters were developed from an original idea that featured three occupations vital in the aftermath of 9-11 — fireman, medical professional and policeman. The images are of Arab Americans who worked in these occupations yet received no positive representation in the media. The racial slur in color works as a graffiti desecration of the image, and contrasts what the viewer may normally think of these professions. The subjects of the photos are not models, but actual Arab Americans who work in these professions and come from a variety of national and religious backgrounds. These figures pose two questions to the viewer, first asking if the terms used would apply to these occupations that the public seem to hold high in regard, and second, if their ethnicity would prevent them from helping someone in need. Any remaining interpretation is dependent on the viewer's personal viewpoints, ethnicity or political affiliation.
